This category of mental disorders includes dementias. Dementia is a disorder characterized by a decline in multiple cognitive functions and it is met mainly in senior citizens. Specifically, people suffering from dementia have impaired memory, learning, speech, concentration, judgment, executive functions, fine motor activity and social skills.

The most common type of dementia is Alzheimer’s disease. Other forms of dementia are vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB).
